I would like to know what program brought babylon into my computer. I did not download it, it just showed up. The only thing I can think of is I had a WildBlue tech working on my system and it showed up right about that time. It is a pain in the rump. Click start.. Click RUN.. Babylon resides in 2 files there I had gotten rid of almost every thing, but it still kept coming up and I did fix it by going in and resetting my home page. I had someone with similar problem. She had gone to a site to get shoes. She then ended up with Bablylon Search engine on her Firefox. Tried changing it back to Yahoo, but, kept coming back.
Tried the About:config settings. Reset put to Google. Set Main page as Yahoo. Firefox went right back to Babylon. Got rid of some Add-ins, that she said she didn't remember. Same thing. Used them. Still coming up on a Babylon search page. Removed Babylon Search from the Firefox engines list.
Still coming up, as Home Page, but, Search engine not showing. Updated before run. Babylon Still coming back as Home Page. Got to this forum. Had the install available. Installed and ran. Within 3mins, it had found Babylon. Good by Babbaaa. I got rid of it once and for all. This is lengthy so print it out.
I found all the places in my computer that Babylon was hiding. Hit the Windows button on your keyboard and "R" at the same time. Go to "Find", and type in "babylon". This will go through your entire hierachy of files and folders on your computer.
Just deleting the "string or key" will leave the folder to "reproduce" or whatever the heck it does so it doesn't go away. Ok once thats done, go to your start button on your computer and hit "Search". This will find any files or folders with that name in it, on it, around it, over it, and under it!!!

Incidentally why even bother with the uninstall if you are restoring to a point a few days before the software was downloaded? The new firefox reset feature available from the troubleshooting menu or from safe mode in some fx versions may help.
Dephillips' solution absolutely fixed the problem go to Firefox drop-down menu upper left corner, click help, open troubleshooting information, click reset Firefox and Voila!
